I've heard from a friend who loves trying out the services of many Santa Monica hair salons that red hair is great for the month of love. I'm excited to share this post with my sister!Curtis Mchalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16493283660870632341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4286285694379543623.post-44849152575497537862010-12-20T18:50:43.952-08:002010-12-20T18:50:43.952-08:00Do you remember if you used a bleach or color remo...Do you remember if you used a bleach or color remover to remove the black hair color? I have already been to the salon twice for heavy hi lites with a burgundy red. I want to go ahead and use a product all over to lighten to a red orange so I can go red.
Im unsure of what to buy.
Thank You
Amy K.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00460269143078786288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4286285694379543623.post-20531576948956306362010-08-22T15:57:30.838-07:002010-08-22T15:57:30.838-07:00I bought the ion medium intense red blonde and fou...I bought the ion medium intense red blonde and found your page by googling it (I wanted to see examples of people's hair with the color on it). My goal is to have an intense red, without looking like ronald mcdonald lol. Your blog has definitely calmed my nerves a lot! What a beautiful shade of red, I'm so stoked, tomorrow's going to be the day I try it out (I've had it for a week but have been kinda nervous).

I'm definitely a loyal Sally's customer too. All over color at salons costs soo much, you really get a good deal there. I don't know if this tip will help but.... Manic Panic is a good semi-permonent dye that doesn't damage your hair, (and I'm looking to maintain a vibrant/cherry red), so my plans are to touch up with the 'Rock 'n Roll' red in between colorings. The girl at the store said that it doesn't have ammonia or anything damaging, and that it should help. (She had red highlights and said she's used it many times.)

Thanks again for your make up tips!Amandine Pughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12564957764464919308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4286285694379543623.post-74375024349095568322010-07-02T00:42:37.742-07:002010-07-02T00:42:37.742-07:00so I'm looking at your hair, thinking how much...so I'm looking at your hair, thinking how much I like the color. I scroll down to find....you use the same exact shade I use! I actually add in a tiny bit of the 6RV to keep it from turning brassy on me (1 part of that to 5 parts 7IR). After seeing Leesha (aka xSparkage) talk about the protein filler, I went to get it, but the chic said is wasn't really going to do anything to help the color stay in longer...I do use the Clairol color intensifier in red though.

I'm also a big fan of Batiste, and have a bottle of the Miracle 7 around somewhere too (though I feel like it's a bit heavy for my fine-but-dry hair. I prefer Cat Walk Fast Fixx).

One thing I think has made a difference in the longevity of my color is switching to a sulfate-free shampoo. I'm not 100% sure- and I'm not one to jump on the "sulfates-are-evil" bandwagon, but after washing sulfate-free 98% of the time with the last dye job, I do feel like I've noticed a difference on my most recent coloring. I've been using a different shampoo with sulfates (though it is for colored hair and contains UV filters...)and feel like I've had much quicker fading, and my hair became brassier faster. Just some food for thought! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04108209313329136795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4286285694379543623.post-79340035059804271272010-06-18T03:26:38.543-07:002010-06-18T03:26:38.543-07:00@Ashley Paige Smith I did have to lift the black d...@Ashley Paige Smith I did have to lift the black dye out. I noticed you mentioned about the black dye, so I have a question for you, did you lighten your hair before going back red? Psssssst! is a bit cheaper; it's available at most drugstores (Walgreens, CVS), but I use dry shampoo so often (since I have dyed hair as well) that I've just switched to baby powder. So much cheaper and just as effective. The only downside is that it's a bit more messy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4286285694379543623.post-87050655888638596342010-06-07T10:09:58.294-07:002010-06-07T10:09:58.294-07:00Wow, thanks for the tips!
